Futuristic Oryx Bike

Oryx is an innovative time trial bike with a one-sided fork and chain-stay designed by Harald Cramer. Due to its Y-frame shape, it’s comfortably shock-proof without loosing ground contact.

Each bike is custom-made which guaranties the perfect fit for every rider and simplifies manufacturing; handle bars, stem and fork are made from one piece. The ergonomically shaped seat post and saddle are integrated into the frame with a hole to cool your bum even!

The frame and handle bars are connected via a frame-pivot, guiding cables through the frame as one turns. One of the innovations on the bike is the crank which is designed like a ring and mounted in the inside of the frame by two ball bearings. The whole bike itself is made of carbon composite, which is baked into the frame during the molding process.

In time trial races, like the Contre la Montre at the Tour de France, every second counts, so Oryx possesses an identical pair of wheels which can be removed by the push of a button.

Amazing Insects

Here are some of the most amazing insects of the world. Each of one of these insects has a set of traits that makes them unique.

The Most Beautiful Insect: Sunset Moth from Malagasy

The wings of this insect actually don’t have any pigmentation! The colors that you are seeing are actually refraction of the light from micro-ribbon in the wings. This moth is actually active during the day, while most moths of the same family are active during the night. They are native to Madagascar and South America and their wings change color shifting from blue to gold-green and then to other shade of yellow as you change your viewing angle. This butterfly is very wanted by collectors.

Most Dangerous Ant: Black Bulldog Ant of Australia

This ant has been known to literally kill humans. They are dark brown and have black abdomen. They are the most primitive of all ants and are very aggressive. They are 1 inch in length and can go up to 2 inches in some case. As their name implies, they are found only in Australia and on top of being aggressive, they are very fast.

Fastest Flying Insect: Horse Fly

It’s fastest recorded speed has been up to 90 MPH. Not only is this insect very fast, but it also has great control and maneuvers in the air. It can turn and change directions at lightning speeds. Even though they go very fast, they don’t rely on these speeds hoping to just get lucky getting a prey, they know in advance their destination and what they will be doing. They also have huge eyes; so huge they are some of the biggest of all insects, and their vision cover almost a 360 degree angle!

Heaviest Insect: Goliath Beetle

Not only heavy, but also huge as you can notice. They come from the family of scarab beetles; the family of scarab beetles have over 30,000 species and scientists think there are as much that haven’t been discovered yet. The first specie appeared over 300 million years ago, and it’s the ability to adapt to the environment that these beetles have been around for so long. The Goliath Beetle likes to eat dead plant and measure 2 to 4-1/3 inches and weigh 3 to 3-1/2 oz. They play an important part in the ecosystem as a decomposer in the environment.

Most Annoying: No-See-Um

These are the very tiny flies that gather in groups and fly in no real directions. They can pass through very fine opening when doors or windows are shut. They live primarily where there are water sources. Only the females bite and suck out blood; it is to get proteins to develop their eggs.

Longest Insect: Giant Stick Insect

Yes, that thing is an insect! A giant stick insect measure 163 mm, and if counting when their legs are outstretched, they measure 295mm, almost a whole foot! And in some cases, they can even reach 20 inches. There are over 3000 species of stick insects found, and some of them even have wings and fly. Can you imagine something of this size flying in your living room. It is actually still a challenge to certain people as to how they can fly with such a big weight and small wings; great aerodynamics is the explanation.

Loudest Insect: Brevisana brevis

This specie of cicadas can be heard for over one quarter of a mile away. It is a real wonder of nature of how something so small can be so powerful to our ears. At close range, the noise can reach 120 dB. A comparative example would be a night in a discotheque, where the music usually reaches 100 dB.

Weirdest Shape: Thorn Bug

The size and color of this insect varies a lot, but usually, the adult thorn bug is about 0.5 inches high and of color green. They are found in South and Central America, Mexico, and southern Florida. This specie was almost unknown until almost 1950.

Longest Living Insect: Queen of Termites

The Queen of Termites has been known to live as long as 50 years. They have been on earth for over 200 million years. Termites eat dead wood and by themselves alone, cause more damages to homes than fire and storms. The queen lays between 5,000 to 7,000 eggs a day; that’s a lot of eggs for someone who can also live so long. Speaking of lifespan, there are, on the other hand, mayflies that can live as much as only an hour.

Most Destructive: Desert Locus

While the above termites do a lot of damage to homes, it is nothing compared to the destructiveness of the Desert Locus. They each eat about the equivalent mass of the weight of their body. They eat almost every sort of crop and vegetation: leaves, flowers, rice, fruits, vegetables, seeds, palms…you name it. 2003-2005 was one of the worst periods for West Africa with the desert locus. The desert locus had invaded over 20 countries, the cost of fighting them were over $400 million and the estimated damages to the harvest were over $2.5 billion.

Nokia Morph flexible mobile phone

Nokia has built a new stretchable and flexible mobile phone of the future using nanotechnology which it says will become increasingly commonplace in the future.

The Morph device can be used as a keyboard, then bent around the wrist and worn as a bracelet. Nokia says the concept device demonstrates handset features that nanotechnology might be capable of delivering, including flexible materials, transparent electronics, and self-cleaning surfaces.

Researchers at the Nokia Research Centre in Cambridge have developed a working prototype.

Dr Tapani Ryhanen, head of the research centre, said: "We hope that this combination of art and science will showcase the potential of nanoscience to a wider audience.

"The research we are carrying out is fundamental to this as we seek a safe and controlled way to develop and use new materials."

Professor Mark Welland, head of the Nanoscience Group at the University of Cambridge, said: "Developing the Morph concept with Nokia has provided us with a focus that is artistically inspirational and sets the technology agenda for our joint nanoscience research."

Nokia claimed that the technology will be in mainstream phones by 2015, but that there are technical challenges still to overcome. Chief among these is power, and Nokia is investigating the use of new battery materials.

Even though Morph is still in early development, Nokia believes that certain elements of the device could be used in high-end Nokia devices within the next seven years. And as the technology matures, nanotechnology could eventually be incorporated into Nokia's entire line of products to help lower manufacturing costs.

HD-DVD is dead, Blu-ray format wins

The biggest consumer electronics format war is officially over. Toshiba, the Japanese electronics giant, has announced that it will no longer develop, produce or market disc players for the HD-DVD format.

So, Sony’s competing Blu-ray format, now looks set to become the global standard for high-definition DVDs video market estimated to be worth nearly $24 billion.

Consumers can now be more clear-headed than before, since practically all of the high-definition format confusion has now ended. Both HD DVD and Blu-ray deliver crisp, clear high-definition pictures and sound, which are more detailed and vivid than existing video technology. They are incompatible with each other, and neither plays on older DVD players. But both formats play on high-definition TVs.

HD DVD was touted as being cheaper because it was more similar to previous video technology, while Blu-ray boasted bigger recording capacity.

In a pitched two-year battle, Sony and Toshiba tried to woo Hollywood studios to release movies in their formats and to persuade computer and game console makers to use their disc drives. The struggle was reminiscent of the 1980s battle between the VHS format of Matsushita and Betamax from Sony to become the standard for videotape.

Toshiba’s chief executive, Atsutoshi Nishida, said the death blow for HD DVD came last month, when the movie studio Warner Brothers, a unit of Time Warner, decided to drop the format in favor of Blu-ray. He also cited a decision last week by Wal-Mart Stores not to stock discs and players using the Toshiba format.

“The sudden change by Warner Brothers was like a bolt from the blue,” Mr. Nishida said in Tokyo.

He said Toshiba had already informed two of its biggest HD DVD partners, the studios Universal and Paramount, of its decision. Other partners included Intel and Microsoft, which sold HD DVD drives for its Xbox 360 game consoles.

Mr. Nishida said Toshiba would halt all production by the end of March, though it would continue offering customer support. He also said Toshiba had no plans to begin producing Blu-ray players.

World's Smallest Bodybuilder

At just 2ft 9in, Indian muscleman Aditya 'Romeo' Dev is the world's smallest bodybuilder.

Romeo, pictured with his trainer Ranjeet Pal, weighs just 1 st 6 lbs.

Pint-sized Romeo is well-known in his hometown of Phagwara, India - for his ability to lift 1.5kg dumbbells - despite his overall 9kg body weight. Every day, crowds flock to the local gym to the see the mini-muscleman in training.

Unlike many dwarfs, Romeo is well proportioned, with a head circumference of 15in and a chest measurement of 20in.

Romeo said: "I've been training as a bodybuilder for the last two years and by now I think I must be the strongest dwarf in the world.

"I have always been fit but since I started working out, I have become famous for my strength.

"My size has never stopped me. I train with dumbbells and do aerobics and dance. People are always pleased to see me. I have been invited on TV shows and dance on stage."

Romeo bats away any doubts about his sporting prowess prompted by his size.

His trainer Ranjeet Pal spents hours helping his 19-year-old protege build his small muscles to perfection.

"Because of his small size, I don't assign him hard exercises. But Romeo trains more or less the same as anyone else and he's much more determined.

"When he first started, I insisted he did a month of basic exercises like aerobics, push-ups and basic gymnastics to prepare his body.

Possibly the strongest dwarf in the world: Romeo and his 1.5kg dumbbells.

"After that, I made lightweight dumbbells and taught him basic weight-lifting exercises to shape his biceps and triceps. His size and his weight were taken care of so that he never hurt himself."

Determined Romeo is hoping to have an entertainment career after performing in many local TV shows.

He said: "I earn good money through my dance and bodybuilding shows but being rich doesn't interest me.

"My dream is to travel a lot - I want to perform in London with my idol, Jazzy-B."
Romeo hopes to become a famous star both in India and abroad.

10 things you did not know about sex

(Contributed by: P Kothari)

1. The typical lovemaking session lasts around 15 minutes: roughly 10 to 12 minutes of foreplay and around 3 to 5 minutes of intercourse.

2. Humans aren't the only horny members of the animal kingdom doing it just for fun. Dolphins and a type of chimpanzee called the bonobo have also been observed engaging in sexual activity when they are not in their natural reproductive cycles.

3. While Viagra has made erectile dysfunction (affecting 10 to 12 percent of men) a household phrase, the opposite problem -- premature ejaculation -- is more common (affecting 24 to 27 percent of men). The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is currently reviewing a drug called dapoxetine as a cure for this problem.

4. Crank up that thermostat.. . orgasms may be more intense in warmer conditions. The degree of vasocongestion, reddening or darkeing of the skin known as the "sex flush," is both more common in warmer temperatures and an indication of how intense an orgasm may be.

5. If a woman experiences orgasm during sex, she is more likely to become pregnant, since orgasmic spasms in pelvic muscles help move sperm up the vaginal canal to the uterus.

6. Homosexuality is not unique to humans. Many species have been observed engaging in homosexual activity, and in fact male bats have the highest rate of homosexuality of all mammals.

7. On any given day 400,000,000 people around the world -- 1 in 17 of us -- will have sexual intercourse. Broken down further, 4,000 people are having sex at any given time.

8. Sex cures headaches. Endorphins released into our bloodstream when we have sex not only give us pleasure but also act as painkillers. Useful information to whip out the next time your partner uses a headache as a reason to say no.

9. Many elderly people can and do have frequent sex. At age 70, 73% of males are still potent, and 30% of women 80 or older still have sex.

10. 70% of women would rather eat choclate than have sex.

Chinese Terracotta Army

The Terracotta Army or Terracotta Warriors and Horses is a collection of 8,099 larger-than-life Chinese terra cotta figures of warriors and horses located near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor.

The Terracotta Army was buried with the Emperor of Qin (Qin Shi Huangdi) in 210-209 BC (his reign over Qin was from 247 BC to 221 BC and unified China from 221 BC to the end of his life in 210 BC). Their purpose was to help rule another empire with Shi Huangdi in the afterlife. Consequently, they are also sometimes referred to as "Qin's Armies".

The figures vary in height, according to their rank, the tallest being the Generals. The height range is 6ft–6ft 5in or more than a full foot taller than the average soldier of the period.

The Terracotta Army was discovered in March 1974 by local farmers drilling a water well to the east of Mount Lishan. Mount Lishan is also where the material to make the terracotta warriors originated. In addition to the warriors, an entire man-made necropolis for the emperor has been excavated.

Construction of this mausoleum began in 246 BC and is believed to have taken 700,000 workers and craftsmen 36 years to complete. Qin Shi Huangdi was interred inside the tomb complex upon his death in 210 BC. The First Emperor was buried alongside great amounts of treasure and objects of craftsmanship, as well as a scale replica of the universe complete with gemmed ceilings representing the cosmos, and flowing mercury representing the great earthly bodies of water. Pearls were also placed on the ceilings in the tomb to represent the stars, planets, etc. Recent scientific work at the site has shown high levels of mercury in the soil of Mount Lishan, tentatively indicating an accurate description of the site’s contents by historian Sima Qian.

The tomb of Qin Shi Huangdi is near an earthen pyramid 76 meters tall and nearly 350 square meters. The tomb presently remains unopened. There are plans to seal off the area around the tomb with a special tent-type structure to prevent corrosion from exposure to outside air. However, there is at present only one company in the world that makes these tents, and their largest model will not cover the site as needed.

A terracotta soldier and his horseQin Shi Huangdi’s necropolis complex was constructed to serve as an imperial compound or palace. It comprises several offices, halls and other structures and is surrounded by a wall with gateway entrances. The remains of the craftsmen working in the tomb may also be found within its confines, as it is believed they were sealed inside alive to keep them from divulging any secrets about its riches or entrance. It was only fitting, therefore, to have this compound protected by the massive terracotta army interred nearby. In July 2007 it was determined, using remote sensing technology, that the mausoleum contains a 90-foot tall building built above the tomb, with four stepped walls, each having nine steps. Researchers theorized it was built "for the soul of the emperor to depart."

Underwater submersible car - sQuba

In the film 'The Spy Who Loved Me', James Bond (Roger Moore) took his white Lotus Esprit for a surprise dip to evade the enemy, swaps his wheels for fins and fires a missile that knocks a pursuing helicopter out of the sky. The famous scene, shot using a model, triggered the imagination of countless gadget-lovers, who wondered if such a car could be made.

Now a self-confessed Bond fanatic has made an up-to-date version of the wondercar using the Lotus Elise, as its base. The concept car developer Rinspeed calls its "sQuba" the first real submersible car.

The "sQuba" will be exhibited at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The €1 million (£750,000) prototype which can dive to a depth of 10m, is seen in action off the coast of Florida in the pictures below.

Concept car designer Frank Rinderknecht, 52, said: “For three decades I have tried to imagine how it might be possible to build a car that can fly under water. Now we have made this dream come true.”

He added: “Everybody knows James Bond and the Esprit but it was always just fiction. We thought, 'Let’s do something everybody knows but nobody has tried.'”

The team at his firm Rinspeed replaced the petrol engine with three electric motors, one to power the rear wheels and two for the specially designed propellers. They are capable of taking it to 75mph on land, a more sedate 4mph while cruising in "boat" mode and 2mph while underwater.

The car is extremely “green” as well, as it is a zero-emission vehicle powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. It has an open top with the occupants exposed to the elements.

The Swiss car designer explained: “The passenger compartment is three square metres of air - you’d need to add about three metric tonnes of added weight to pull it down under the surface.

The second reason for having an open cabin is safety: “Even at one metre depth, the water pressure would keep the doors closed so you could not get out in an emergency.” Passengers will be able to keep breathing underwater through an integrated tank of compressed air similar to what is used in scuba diving. But they will get wet.

Although one would expect the car to sink like a stone, special compartments have been filled with foam to ensure it floats.

“The car will come to the surface by itself,” said Mr Rinderknecht. “It is basically unsinkable.”

Rather than achieving neutral buoyancy with weighting, the propellers drive it downwards so that if it were to stop it would rise up. Once under water, its occupants breath air coming from an integrated tank of compressed air similar to that used by scuba divers. The vehicle can stay under water “until you run out of air or battery power,” which is about two hours.

The designer said the sensation was just like scuba diving - in a car.

“We could have made it a lot quicker by using a bigger model with more batteries but that wasn’t the issue,” he said. “The focus was really on it going underwater.”

However, there are no plans to put it into production.

“It’s a tradition that we produce a concept car for the Geneva Motor Show,” said the designer.

“We don’t plan to build it, even in a limited capacity,” he admitted.

“But if someone wants to take up the project that would be great. I’m sure there will be people interested in buying one.”

Useful Valentine's Day Tips

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Valentine ideas, if they are good and appeal to your beloved can change the equation of your love life for all the time to come. Valentine's Day gifts will reveal the intensity of your emotion.

Sift through the following Valentine ideas in order to make Valentine's Day the luckiest day for you.

1. Instead of voicing the usual “I Love You” in the same old-fashioned way, try to play with words to see their effect and speak out everything that promises to linger on in the memory forever.

2. Make sure to spend loads of time together. Hold each other's hands and go for a short walk.

3. Fill your surrounding atmosphere with the melody of romantic musical tracks that are free from noisy disturbance and ties the lovers with the music of love.

4. If your sweetheart finds gadgets and gizmos interesting, gift the most appealing one for him or her. Gifting a nice cell phone to your beloved would promise to keep both of you on all-time communication mode.

5. Though chocolates and greeting cards seem to be a bit run-of-the-mill, they can never go out from the Valentine gift-giving tradition and they will be attracting more and more lovers in all times to come. Also, scented bouquets of roses, tulips and discrete colorful flowers work wonders in turning the romantic mood on.

6. Gifting groovy or traditional apparel is always considered to be fashionable because they keep the remembrance of gift and gift giver alive. If your beloved likes plants, give a flowering plant to put in the garden to enjoy year after year.

7. Romantic long drive and a candle light dinner is a fabulous idea.

8. Make a CD of your favorite songs as a couple including love songs that you both enjoy listening to. Buy some romantic CDs, classic videos or DVDs and wrap them all together with red ribbon.

9. Create a "recollection collection" scrapbook filled with favorite photographs, love letters, keepsakes from special occasions, and cherished mementos.

5 Secret Ways to Show Your Love to Your Partner
Five overlooked ways to show your significant other how much you truly love them.

1. Flirt
This is a light-hearted seduction with the intent of conveying love! Why not send a sexy text message or email while you are at work? This reminds the other person that you are thinking about him or her. It also increases the intensity of love so that you actually look forward to seeing each other when you return home from work.

2. Candles
According to Feng Shui, the seduction candle is red. This secret of seduction can put back the romance in your relationships. Why not fill your room with scented candles and turn off the lights just to relax in each others arms?

3. Food
It is said that "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach," however this is also thought to be the secret of successful seduction of women too. Show your love by setting up a surprise dinner for two. Add flowers, soft music and incense to create a seductive love nest. Aphrodisiac foods such as oysters, chili, chocolate, figs, honey and walnuts are said to aid in the stimulation of your loved ones hormones.

4. Love Letters and Poems
Why not leave a love note for your loved one? This can be posted in the bathroom or kitchen before you leave to work. You could also leave a nice love poem under the pillow so that your partner finds this at night before bedtime or first thing in the morning. Or send a hand written love letter to their work address. This will stir up the feeling of love in the privacy of your bedroom as well as in your relationship. Inspiration can be taken from music or love poem books.

5. Get Away
There can be a lot of distractions in your relationship such as work or children. There are many short vacations available for the weekend or just for a day. You may arrange a trip to the Health Spa or a Hotel so that you are in a different environment than usual where you can both relax and concentrate on each other.

Using the five techniques above to show your significant other just how much you truly love them will certainly spice up your love life, strengthen your relationship, and keep you and your partner happy for years to come!

Things You Never Knew Your Mobile Phone Could Do

(Contributed by: P K Kothari)

This message describes four things you can do on your mobile phone that could be useful in an emergency situation. Each tip is discussed in turn below:

Tip 1: 112 is the international emergency number for mobile phones

It is true that, in many parts of the world, dialling '112' from a mobile phone will connect the caller to local emergency services. The number '112' is the international emergency telephone number for GSM mobile phone networks.

An Australian government webpage dealing with emergency calls notes:

When dialling '112' on GSM mobile phones, access is provided regardless of the presence or validity of the SIM card within the phone, or whether the keypad is locked. The '112' number cannot be dialled from the fixed network.

•'112' can be dialled anywhere in the world with GSM coverage and callers will be automatically translated to that country's particular emergency number.

•A caller is able to connect to the emergency services answering point if GSM mobile coverage is available from any carrier's network at the location of the call.

However, because '112' is primarily integrated with the GSM network, it may not work if the phone is connected to another type of network such as CDMA. The Australian Government webpage also notes:

In Australia, it is a mandatory obligation for '112' to be built into GSM mobile phones. While this is not the case with CDMA mobile phones - as the international standards for CDMA do not require '112' - some mobile carriers have enabled '112' access in their CDMA mobile phones. However, this service does not have the extra capabilities, such as roaming and PIN override, that '112' has on GSM networks. For further details regarding '112' access on a CDMA phone, consumers should talk to their mobile service providers.

Therefore, while it is certainly useful to know about '112', mobile phone users should be aware that this emergency number may not work in every part of the world or for every mobile network.

Moreover, some circulating messages about '112' claim that the number will work even if there is no mobile phone signal or will automatically divert to a satellite phone system. However, this information is false. While ‘112’ will attempt to connect to any available network, it certainly will not work if no signal at all is available.

Finally, it should also be noted that, in the European Union, '112' is the emergency number for all Member States and will work from both mobile and fixed phones.

Tip 2: You can unlock your remote keyless entry enabled car from a long distance via a mobile phone call.

This tip has generated vast amounts of, sometimes heated, debate. A lot of people swear that the trick works while a great many others claim that it does not and is technically impossible. I suspect that at least some of the people who claim that the technique works have conducted their experiments without realizing that they are actually still within unlocking range of their vehicles. The range of the entry systems may be significantly greater than experimenters realize. Thus, people may actually believe that they have unlocked their vehicle via their mobile phone when they have in fact done so in the normal way via their remote device.

That said, a great many posters claim to have used the technique from many kilometres distance. In truth, logic and common sense compellingly suggest that the trick is not technically possible. Keyless entry systems work on radio waves, not sound, so it is very difficult to believe that the unlock signal could be transmitted via a mobile phone call, especially since mobile phones and keyless entry systems work at entirely different frequencies.

However, the volume of conflicting reports on the issue means that, at this point, it would be premature to state categorically that the trick will never work under any circumstances. Some have postulated that the technique might be possible with certain keyless entry systems and/or phone services or combinations thereof and this may indeed be the case. This scenario would explain why the technique might work for the few but not the many. Coupled with false conclusions made from invalid experiments, these exceptions might explain why so many people so vehemently claim that the trick actually works in spite of the evidence against it.

What I can say conclusively is that I have personally testing the technique with several keyless entry/mobile phone combinations without any success whatsoever. And, even if the technique does sometimes work, it seems clear that in the great majority of cases, it does not, so this tip is actually rather pointless.

Tip 3: Press the keys *3370# to activate hidden battery power on your mobile phone.

This "tip" is totally bogus. You cannot activate hidden or reserve battery power by keying in *3370# or any other code sequence. The code '*3370#' can be used on some Nokia models to activate Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR). Ironically, since this code activates the best sound quality on the phone, the change will actually reduce the length of time that the battery will last before recharging is required – in practical terms the complete opposite of what the tip suggests.

Entering the code has no effect at all on brands of phone other than Nokia.

Tip 4: Press the keys * # 0 6 # to check your mobile phone serial number.

This does work on many kinds of mobile phones. Entering * # 0 6 # displays the phone's unique International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI). The IMEI is also usually printed underneath the battery.

If a phone is reported lost or stolen, the IMEI can be used to disable the phone, thereby making it impossible for thieves to use it.

A Wikipedia entry about IMEI notes:

When mobile equipment is stolen or lost, the operator or owner will typically contact the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) which blacklists the device in all operator switches so that it will in effect become unusable, making theft of mobile equipment a useless business.

However, CEIR blacklisting is not always effective because it is sometimes possible to reprogram stolen phones with a new IMEI and, although in theory every IMEI is supposed to be unique to a particular device, this is not always the case in practice.

Certainly, it could be wise to record your IMEI just in case you need it at some point in the future. But it should be noted that you do not actually need to have your IMEI at hand to have a lost or stolen phone deactivated. Virtually every provider will have the facility to quickly deactivate or disable your mobile phone account, even if you cannot provide the phone’s IMEI. If your phone is lost or stolen, contact your provider and explain the situation. They should be able to immediately initiate methods that will ensure that thieves cannot use your phone account to make calls.

This is the kind of information people don't mind receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends.

Horse being born - Rare pictures

The pictures below show how a horse develops from a fertilized egg.

The gestation period of a horse is usually 11 to 12 months. The mare will foal when she is ready and can accelerate or delay foaling as required depending on things happening in the environment. Most mares foal at night or early in the morning, and prefer to give birth alone when possible. The actual birth process takes only a short time, about 15 to 30 minutes. Once the foal is born, the mare will lick the newborn to clean it and help blood circulation. In a very short time, the foal will attempt to stand and get milk from its mother. A foal should stand and nurse within the first hour of life.

Ferrari FXX Evoluzione

Ferrari has unveiled a new, modified version of the super-Enzo at its Mugello race track in Italy called the Ferrari FXX Evoluzione.

Ferrari FXX Evoluzione is a further evolution of the FXX program that places "client test drivers" (i.e. wealthy Ferrari aficionados) behind the wheel of developmental test beds to try out new equipment for Ferrari.

The top dog of Ferraris has a list of extremely exclusive owners. You can't own one, as they're already sold out before ever being built, and Ferrari reserves the right to choose buyers since these cars are for the track only and technically used by Ferrari as development cars.

It has a big 6.3-litre V12 engine that can now punch out a massive 860 hp at 9500 rpm and shift times are down to a lightning-fast 60 milliseconds. The traction control system has been modified to be less invasive, more adaptable and can be adjusted in-cockpit on the fly between nine distinct settings from corner to corner.

To keep the Ferrari on the road engineers have modified the rear spolier and underbody diffuser to give more downforce. At the front revised suspension geometery gives the Evoluzione even sharper steering, while the carbon ceramic brakes now last twice as long.
The aerodynamic package has been modified, which, along with fresh livery, accounts for a slightly different appearance compared to the previous version.
